TrainingExcel

Bespoke Excel training, pitched exactly where your team is.

From nervous beginners to confident users who want to go further. Every course is built around the people in the room and the work they actually do. On-site or remote, and backed by a money-back guarantee.

Sound familiar?

Wherever your team sits with Excel, we hear the same handful of things.

  • I don’t know what I don’t know.

You get by. But there’s a nagging sense there are better ways you’ve simply never been shown.

  • I’m self-taught. Am I doing it wrong?

You picked Excel up as you went. It works, but you sometimes see someone do in ten seconds what takes you ten minutes.

  • There must be a better way.

You know what you’re doing is more complicated than it needs to be. You just don’t know what the better way looks like.

  • I love Excel, but I’d love to know more.

You fly around a spreadsheet. But XLOOKUP, dynamic arrays, Power Query, macros: you suspect they’d save you hours.

Any of those could be someone on your team. The aim isn’t to turn everyone into an expert. It’s to meet people exactly where they are, and move them somewhere better.

What the training covers

Every course tailored to your exact needs.

Every session is built from scratch for your team, so the exact content is whatever helps most. Broadly, it falls into two directions, and plenty of courses draw from both.

Building confidence

For teams finding their feet

Losing the fear, and getting Excel to do the everyday work reliably.

  • Spreadsheet foundations: building a sheet, formulas and formatting, without the fear it’s about to break.
  • Making sense of data: sorting, filtering and pivot tables, for people who’ve always been slightly afraid of them.
  • Formulas that work: the everyday ones, written correctly, and how to fix them when they don’t.
  • Charts & reports: that say what they’re meant to, and that other people can actually read.
  • Working faster: the shortcuts and habits that change the whole day. Often the most useful hour.

Stretching further

For confident users who want more

The powerful, under-used corners of Excel that quietly save hours.

  • Modern functions: XLOOKUP, dynamic arrays and spill functions that replace old, fragile formulas.
  • Tables & structured references: formulas that read like English and don’t break when data grows.
  • Power Query: Excel’s best-kept secret for repeatable data prep, at the click of a button.
  • Advanced charts & dashboards: interactive, self-updating views people genuinely use.
  • Automation & macros: handing the repetitive, error-prone work over to Excel to do for you.

Not sure which end of the scale your team is at? That’s exactly the kind of thing worth a quick conversation, and we’ll help you work it out.

What it costs

Honest pricing, published up front.

Most training companies won’t show you a price until you’ve made contact. We’d rather just tell you. We don't charge per-person and there's no premium for different content levels. You’re paying for our time, not for how many people are in the room or what we’re teaching.

Good to know

We tailor everything: where, when, how long and how advanced.

Full day or half day, on-site or remote, one group or two, whatever works for you. Here are the questions we’re asked most. Anything else, just ask us.

Where does the training happen?
On-site at your premises, or remotely over Teams, whichever suits your team better. Both work well; on-site tends to feel more like a workshop, remote saves the travel.
How long is a session, and how many people?
Usually a full day, though a half day works well for a focused topic or a smaller group. It runs best with up to around 12 people, though larger groups may be possible, so it’s worth asking.
Our team’s experience varies a lot. Is that a problem?
We’re experienced at handling mixed ability. But honestly, similarly-grouped participants get more from the day. If experience varies widely, it’s worth talking about whether two shorter sessions at different levels would serve you better. If one session is the right answer, we’ll make it work.
Is in-house really better than a public course?
Public courses have their place. But for most organisations, in-house works out cheaper than sending two or three people elsewhere, with advantages a public course can’t match: no travel, content shaped around your team’s real work, and the whole team in the room rather than a couple who then have to share what they learned.
What does everyone need on the day?
Each person needs a laptop or desktop with Excel installed. We bring everything else, including the materials, provided at cost.

What people say

Just a little of the feedback we've had…

I attended an advanced excel training course organised by my company. Andrew is the best trainer I have ever experienced; he is so engaging, able to understand and tailor requirements as needed and has a way of explaining things that makes something potentially complicated seem achievable. They have a wide repertoire and we shall definitely be asking for future training on other projects. Prices are very competitive too and actually exceptional value for money when considering the quality of service and volume of knowledge that they have.

Most people would rather talk it through or email over their requirements, and that’s usually the quickest way to get it right. However you get in touch, it’ll be Andrew who replies, not a call handler.

No obligation, no sales pressure. Just a straight answer on dates and price, usually within one working day.
