TrainingAI Without the Hype

The noise is deafening. Clarity takes three hours.

A three-hour seminar for organisations that want a straight, balanced picture of what AI actually is, what it isn’t, and what to do about it. No sales pitch. No scaremongering. Just honest answers to the questions everyone’s asking.

The honest version

It’s a tool. A powerful one. Let’s work out what it actually does – and what it doesn’t.

The pressure keeps growing

Every week there’s another headline. Every month another tool. And somehow the pressure to “do something about AI” keeps growing.

Most of what’s written about AI is either trying to sell you something or trying to frighten you. Often both. And – wouldn’t you know it – it’s often written by AI. Finding a calm, honest, genuinely informed perspective on what it means for your organisation is harder than it should be.

This seminar exists to fill that gap. Not to tell you AI is going to save your organisation or destroy it, but to give your people enough understanding to form their own views, make sensible decisions, and stop feeling like they’re perpetually behind.

We promise

Every word of this course is written – and even delivered! – by an actual human. Not AI. We promise – it's interesting, stimulating, and maybe even enjoyable… 😊

What makes this seminar different

Three things you won’t get from a YouTube video.

01

Delivered by someone who works with data and AI tools every day.

Not someone who learned about AI in order to give a talk about it. We build data systems for a living, so we understand AI in the context of how organisations actually work – not just in the abstract.

02

No conclusion pre-decided.

We're not here to tell people AI will change everything they do, or that all their fears are just overblown. We're here to give them enough understanding to form their own views. The bigger questions – employment, ethics, where this is heading – are discussed honestly, not avoided.

03

Live demonstrations – including the failures.

If the AI gets something wrong in the session, that’s not an embarrassment – it’s the lesson. Seeing AI fail in real time, and understanding why, is worth more than a curated demo where everything works perfectly.

Caught in the act

It answers with total confidence. It’s also completely wrong.

This is the single most important habit the seminar builds: knowing when a fluent, authoritative answer is quietly invented. Here the tool was asked to quote a document it was never given – and rather than admit that, it filled the gap. Three tells give it away.

Three signs of trouble ahead

  • The confidence. Not one “I’m not sure”. It reads like a colleague who was in the room.
  • The detail. A name, a date, an exact headcount, a precise percentage. Specificity is how a guess disguises itself.
  • The source. The email was never shared with it. It filled the gap rather than admit one existed.

In the room, we do this live – and it’s far more persuasive watching it happen than being told it can.

What the seminar covers

Three hours is enough to go as deep as it needs to.

Here’s the ground it covers – with enough time on each for plenty of discussion, and enough breadth to give a rounded view of the topic as a whole.

01

How AI actually works

Explained accessibly, without unnecessary jargon. Understanding the basics changes how you think about everything else.

02

The main tools

ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Gemini and others – what they do, how they differ, and why it matters which one you use for what.

03

Where it’s genuinely useful – and where it isn’t

An honest account of what AI does well, what it does badly, and where reaching for it causes more problems than it solves.

04

Hallucination and over-confidence

What it is, when and why it happens, and how to build habits that guard against it. One of the most practically important things to understand.

05

Data governance

Who controls your data with different tools, what that means for GDPR, and what your organisation should and shouldn’t put into these systems.

06

Policy and ethics

What you should have in place before staff start using AI tools – and why “just use your judgement” isn’t good enough as a policy.

07

The bigger picture

Environmental impact, the future of employment, AGI – the questions that don’t have easy answers, discussed honestly rather than glossed over.

Kept current

The seminar is kept up to date as the landscape evolves. In fact, every time we run this course, we check what's changed and incorporate that into our slides, our discussions, and our demonstrations.

Format and practical details

Built for your training or conference room. Delivered on-site.

Duration

3 hours

Per session. Deep enough to go properly into it, short enough to keep thirty people engaged throughout.

Group size

Up to 30

People per session – enough for a proper group conversation, not so many that it becomes a lecture.

In a day

Up to 60

Two sessions in one day covers a whole organisation – no running the same conversation across weeks.

Delivery

On-site

It works best in person – the live demos and the conversation that follows are hard to replicate remotely.

Price

£895 + VAT / session

A flat price for the session, not per person. Two sessions in a day – for a whole organisation of up to sixty – are quoted together. Just tell us the shape of your team.

What people take away

The AI workshop was very informative and well-structured. Real-world case scenarios made the workshop even more engaging.

Andrew was absolutely brilliant and highly knowledgeable. He made all the content very interesting and helped keep the session as an open and welcoming discussion.

Thinking about booking?

Start with a conversation, not a booking form.

The best starting point is a chat about what you’d want your people to take away – the current mood around AI, what’s driving the interest, and what would make the day genuinely useful rather than just another training session. And it’ll be Andrew who replies, not a call handler.

No obligation, no sales pressure. If you’d prefer to get a sense of the content first, the topics above give a fair picture – and it’s kept current, so if you’re wondering whether a specific tool is included, just ask.
